The garden was small, irregular in shape and rose steeply.
I decided to divide the garden into 2 levels and 3 rooms. working with the irregular shape rather than try to square it up. I had worked with the clients on a previous property, so I had an understanding of the style they liked. The smooth rendered walls give the garden a clean crisp contemporary feel that reflects the house. The planting was to give the garden a lush tropical feel with predominantly evergreen plants for all year interest.
The paving is Indian sandstone and the grass balustrades is a perfect way to keep the connection with the 2 levels.
The clients have become good friends and I love to visit this garden (it’s one of my favourites).
